Hope for the Future

What to expect from CLM in 2021

Fall is here, and I know this is a year most, if not all of us, will be glad to see end. Of course, the clock striking midnight on Dec. 31, 2020 doesn’t mean all is well the first second of Jan. 1, 2021, but it does mean that there is hope for a better year in 2021. Hope that we’ll get control over this pandemic. Hope that fewer lives will be lost or affected. Hope that we can begin to travel again.

With that hope in mind, we’ve made some changes to our 2021 events calendar. Our first event will be held in mid-May in Chicago, our Workers Compensation and Retail, Restaurant & Hospitality Conference. We’ve moved the Annual Conference to June 16-18 in Atlanta. The rest of our 2021 events are scheduled from September through the end of the year. I know we are all hopeful that we will be able to gather again in person in 2021. But, if we cannot safely get together, we will again pivot to provide best-in-class training, education, and networking, virtually.

CLM continues to offer many opportunities to connect with others in our community and to create new relationships. Our virtual conferences provide fantastic education as well as networking opportunities. For 2020, there are two more free events on the calendar. On Nov. 3-5, 2020, our Focus event kicks off virtually. On Dec. 2-3, 2020, we host our last virtual Focus event of the year with sessions on extra-contractual, insurance coverage, and claims/litigation management. We’re also hosting the Litigation Management Institute virtually this year from Oct. 21-25, 2020 (there is a fee to register for LMI; our Focus events are free). All the details can be found at www.theclm.org/events.

Our team and our community have gone to extraordinary lengths to create many options for virtually connecting with one another. During our conferences, attendees can connect on the event platform via the chat and message functions. You can even set up private video calls with other attendees. Each event also includes a fun virtual networking event where you can spend some time getting to know other attendees in a moderated Zoom breakout room. Trust me, these are fun!

I hope to see you soon.
