State of Change

This new year, the inaugural issue of CLM magazine will bring together the best of both worlds.

If there is one constant at CLM, it’s change, and that’s never been more evident as we enter into our 10th year of bringing together our members and fellows in a spirit of collaboration built on mutual respect and learning. It’s what drives everything we do. Here is what’s in store.

As you no doubt already noticed, we have made significant changes to our magazines. Instead of splitting our efforts into two publications that separately covered litigation and claims management-related issues, we are merging Claims Management and Litigation Management magazines to form one flagship publication: CLM Magazine. The pages of this inaugural issue reflect our goal to keep you up to date not only on what’s happening nationwide, but also what’s happening within CLM. Given our mantra of bringing together professionals involved in resolving insurance claims, it makes perfect sense to give you one source for both, and our editorial team is dedicated to making sure you gain the edge you need to succeed.

But that doesn’t mean we won’t continue offering specialty niche publications that address more targeted topics. Construction Claims magazine and WC magazine enter into their second and third years, respectively, and I can tell you with certainty that we’re not stopping there. There are many more magazine surprises planned for 2017, all with the goal of making our membership the most educated and informed in the world. These specialty publications are driven and supported by our committees and communities, which means they are chock full of cutting-edge, relevant content.

But change isn’t just happening in print. If you read the magazines’ digital editions, then you have also seen the modernized version of CLM’s website, Led by CLM Chief Communication Officer Susan Wisbey-Smith, the redesign makes the site easier to navigate and find the things for which you are looking. The feedback has been tremendous, and we’re proud to offer this updated resource to you.

If you’re not changing, you’re not growing, and we are definitely growing at CLM, adding hundreds of new members and fellows every week as we cement our status as the largest claims-focused association in the world with more than 35,000 insurance industry professionals in our ranks. It’s amazing what we have achieved together in just 10 short years; I can’t wait to see the way we change in the years ahead.
