As a leader, young professional, and rising star in the industry, Douglas Dick’s guiding philosophy comes down to servant leadership. Asked what he considers his most significant accomplishment, Douglas does not speak of personal successes, but rather the joy he experienced watching two interns who reported to him grow into strong professionals themselves. He is quick to give credit to those who helped him launch his own career and is eager to do the same for the next generation of workers and leaders in the industry.

Of course, Douglas also has plenty of personal successes to celebrate. He rocketed to a VP position within Crawford at a very young age, and while he credits Crawford’s leadership with giving him the opportunity and room to succeed, it was still up to him to seize that opportunity. Douglas responded by developing innovative solutions in new markets that allowed Crawford to not only grow its book of business, but also help clients succeed amid emerging and evolving challenges. “Bringing technical expertise to an executive client role has been the magic that has helped our clients overcome obstacles they have experienced in our world, which can be very complex,” he says. “I think I’ve been able to really help transform our service offering.”

On the secret to his success, Douglas says, “Having zealous energy and something to prove, having a seat at the table, and then having leaders who truly believed in me and let me be creative and innovative to deliver results. I’m grateful for the impact I’ve had.”
