Olivia Park
Attorney, McAngus Goudelock & Courie, LLC (MGC Law)
Like many in the CLM community, Olivia Park began her career largely unaware of the insurance defense industry. Within the first few years of her legal practice, her passion for litigation led her to exclusively practicing insurance defense.
At her firm, Olivia has been instrumental in recruitment and retention, successfully bringing in attorneys who had not previously considered insurance defense. She has also played a vital role in increasing the number of female associates in her office, noting that she was just one of two women when she joined. By proposing new initiatives, she earned the chance to attend interviews and contribute to the firm’s development.
In her practice, Olivia applies her strong affinity for numbers and statistics. As an example, she maintains detailed jury statistic tables for counties across Tennessee to better advise her adjusters.
Olivia is also committed to fostering interest in insurance defense among younger professionals. She regularly presents at local law schools, emphasizing that the practice involves far more than just paperwork—it is a stimulating, intellectually challenging field. To enhance practical learning, she played a key role in redesigning MGC’s summer law clerk program, ensuring clerks gain valuable hands-on experience.
Beyond her contributions at the firm and in law schools, Olivia stays actively involved in the Nashville Bar Association and Lawyer’s Association for Women. She also serves on CLM’s Young Professionals Advisory Board where she brings her characteristic energy and enthusiasm.
