Fernando Valle
Partner, Colodny Fass, PLLC
Fernando Valle’s path to insurance defense was not a straightforward one, much like many others in the field. The COVID-19 pandemic played a significant role in shaping both his career trajectory and future. By a combination of timing and talent, Fernando joined Colodny Fass, where he became a partner at age 30.
Fernando sees his arrival at the firm as perfectly timed with an exciting period in Florida’s legal landscape. The Florida Legislature had just enacted Statute 627.7152, aimed at addressing AOB abuses, particularly in property insurance cases. Drawing on his expertise, he has authored amicus curiae briefs on behalf of the American Property Casualty Insurance Association and other industry groups. Fernando has shaped statewide legal interpretations on statutory issues, coverage disputes, and regulatory compliance, influencing how both Florida and federal courts handle insurance law. His background as both a trial prosecutor and complex commercial litigator enables him to effectively bridge perspectives between attorneys, claims professionals, and industry stakeholders.
Fernando credits his involvement in CLM with providing opportunities to connect and network with, and learn from people that he might not have necessarily met. Beyond participating in CLM’s Fort Lauderdale chapter, he has shared his trial, appellate, and regulatory experience through a webinar on state liability trends in Florida, benefiting the broader CLM community.
