“Savvy defendants have sought to curb excessive future medical damages at personal injury trials by showing coverage for most costs under the Affordable Care Act. A 2015 Supreme Court challenge may dismantle Obamacare; an unwelcome change for that strategy.”

1. Mark S. Yagerman, Executive Member, Smith Mazure Director Wilkins Young & Yagerman P.C. CLM Member since 2010.

“As baby boomers retire, 2015 will be a year in which employees can build a deeper career at their current employer because they should be able to move into desirable roles vacated within their own companies rather than feel compelled to change employers to progress.”

2. Caryn Siebert, President and CEO, Carl Warren & Company. CLM Fellow since 2009.

“We’re retiring our legacy claims system and installing state of the art technology. With new technological advancements available, we look forward to redoubling our efforts in claims handling and making data-driven decisions.”

3. Timothy R. Wiedmeyer, CPCU, AIC, Vice President and Chief Claims Officer, Republic Group. CLM Fellow since 2008.

“‘Insurance’ and ‘exciting’ are words not often used together, but 2015 will be exciting. As more states legalize marijuana and carriers write policies for cyber liability, as many questions will be asked as answered. Did Sony’s policy cover data breaches? Will plaintiffs claim medical damages for marijuana? Is theft of a marijuana plant covered under a homeowner’s policy?”

4. Valerie A. Garcia, Shareholder, Pryor Johnson Carney Karr Nixon P.C. CLM Member since 2012.
